The TAPSIGNER™ tries to combine the security of an hardware wallet with the ease of use of a software wallet at an lower cost. Combine it with the Nunchuck app and you're able to keep you're private keys off you're phone and in a more secure place.
This doesn't replace a full hardware wallet like the COLDCARD™ for your cold storage but is perfect for a wallet with a bit less sats on for the day to day transactions. Another excellent use case for the TAPSIGNER™ is as one of the signing devices in a multisig quorum.
